Many people are unaware that like other parts of your
car, the air-conditioning system needs regular attention to
ensure that it is working efficiently. At Five Star
Automotive we offer 2 types of air conditioning services;
Air-Conditioning Re-Gas and Air-Conditioning Clean. Those
services are designed to ensure that your car air
conditioning is working efficiently and to remove unpleasant
smells.
Air-Conditioning Re-Gas
It is recommended that you should recharge your
air-conditioning system every 2 years with gas and
lubricant, in order to keep it running efficiently. This is
not included as part of a routine car service and so it can
often be overlooked. If your car is more than 2 years old it
is more than likely due a re-gas.
This service ensures that your air-conditioning system is
working efficiently by testing the gas pressure to see if it
has dropped. A drop in gas pressure will result in a loss of
cooling efficiency which will make your engine work harder
and in turn use more fuel.
Due to it's dehumidifying properties, when operating
fully efficiently, your air-conditioning system will also
de-mist your windscreen more rapidly in cold weather. So,
for comfort and safety's sake, book your Air-Conditioning
Re-Gas now!
Our fully trained technicians will take a temperature
reading from your air-conditioning system; remove all the
old refrigerant gas, oil and dye. They then clean the whole
system and remove any moisture within. Once the system has
been thoroughly cleansed our technicians will inject new
oil, dye and refrigerant gas and take a temperature reading
again to ensure that the re-gas has made a difference to the
cold air temperature.
This process will ensure that your air-conditioning
system is working to its full potential.
To keep your Air-Con system fully charged all year, why
not call in to our workshop and have your vehicle’s air
conditioning system recharged with gas and lubricant today.
